Articular Magnetic Resonance (Artoscan) is a diagnostic technique based on the use of a magnetic field and electromagnetic radiofrequency waves.

Magnetic Resonance imaging provides detailed images of the human body, especially soft tissues. It is possible to see the division between different types of tissue, sometimes unappreciative with other radiological techniques.


It is an innocuous examination and does not use either X-rays or radioactive sources, but is contraindicated for patients in:

-Pregnancy
-Bearers of peace-maker
-Metal heart valves
-Metal prostheses
Prostheses equipped with electronic circuits and metal preparations positioned close to vital organs.
Before the examination, the patient must remove all metal objects and clothing that may contain fibers or metal parts; It must also remove all cosmetic products and dental prostheses.
